47th Annual Drama Desk Awards


Designer Eduardo Milieris and Watchcraft® Celebrate Great New York Stagecraft With the Stars of Broadway and Off-Broadway at the 47th Annual Drama Desk Awards Sunday, May 19, 2002 Cablecast Live on NY 1 News.

Uruguayan-born designer Eduardo Milieris and his company Watchcraft® joined some of Broadway and Off-Broadway's brightest stars in celebrating the best of New York stagecraft at this year's Drama Desk Awards presentation, Sunday, May 19, 2002 at the Concert Hall at the F.H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, 100 Amsterdam Avenue at 65th Street.

Among the celebrity presenters on hand wearing Milieris' unique, handcrafted wristwatch designs were Mos Def, John Lithgow, Andrea Martin, Bill Pullman, Mercedes Reuhl, Elaine Stritch, Vanessa Williams and Jeffrey Wright, along with the event host Rue McClanahan.

The Drama Desk Awards are presented annually to celebrate excellence in New York's Broadway and Off-Broadway theaters. Now in its 47th year, the event was cablecast live in its entirety by NY1 News, which will rebroadcast the program on Saturday, May 25, at 7 PM. For the second year in succession, THIRTEEN/WNET, New York's premier public broadcasting television station, will also rebroadcast the awards show on Monday, May 27, at 9 PM.
